One of the images from my Rare Breed series was featured on a recent episode of Steven and Chris. The image was taken in Mount Forest of a Percheron horse named, "Romeo". It was a cold cold day, hard on the fingers with the old Hasselblad but it is one of my favourite shots.

and finally the ceremony in a nearby meadow.

PDN magazine is a huge resource for professional photographers. They have an international wedding photography competition every year that brings thousands of entries. One of my images was a winner! It's such a funny little image and one of those moments that I am always on the lookout for.

Spring One of A Kind Show

I am delighted to be exhibiting in the Spring One of A Kind Show this week. The work featured is the Rare Breed series as well as some large landscapes and encaustic pieces.

The show runs until Sunday, April 3rd at the Direct Energy Centre at the CNE in Toronto.

My neighbour Joern Schmidt from Tresnormal T-shirts across the aisle made this fantastic sketch of the booth. I guess I am the cranky looking coyote showing my wares to a flock of road runners.

The photo booth is a blast. No matter how long we have been shooting before we start the booth, it always gives us a boost. I often have to take a break because I am laughing so hard.

This little stop-motion movie shows the photo booth from one wedding – Bobbi + Geoff and baby Harry at the Gardiner Museum.

I love to bring out the old cameras when I have a chance. This one is from the 40's and it brings its history to every image. I can't help wonder what sights have been recorded through this lens over the decades.

These photographs were taken at Kate and Mike's beautiful wedding at Graydon Hall.

An anniversary gift

I shot their wedding in 2003 when Polaroid still made that gorgeous large format B&W film that was the inspiration for our Polaroid booth. I ran into Mary & Peter in Cherry Bomb...yup I still have the negs, and for sure I would love to make some prints. A couple of months later...the anniversary gift.

I look forward to printing from my old negs well into the future.

It is so wonderful to be a part of people's celebrations. The wedding was two summers ago and I was asked to document the next chapter in their lives. The parents-to-be had a graphic artful shot in mind which we achieved using light from the living room window.

The print was treated with wax on kozo paper.
